Civil Defense and Firefighting Program

Establishment;

Bünyan Vocational School was first established at the meeting of the General Assembly of Higher Education dated 20.10.2006, in accordance with the 7/d-2 article of the Law No. 2547, amended by the Law No. 2880, as an affiliation to Erciyes University, and then Officially dated 18.05.2018 and numbered 30425. With the Law No. 7141 on Higher Education and some Laws and Decree-Laws published in the Gazette, it was affiliated to the Rectorate of Kayseri University. The Civil Defense and Firefighting Program, which was opened within the body of Bünyan Vocational School, started education by accepting its first students as of the 2019-2020 academic year.

Degree Earned;

Those who earn the right to graduate receive the title of "Civil Defense and Fire Brigade Technician".


Program Profile;

In the Civil Defense and Firefighting Program, whose training period is two years, as vocational courses; Combustion and Fire Knowledge, Basic First Aid, Vehicle and Material Knowledge I-II, Firefighting Sports Training I-II, General Chemistry, Occupational Health and Safety I-II, Orienteering, Disaster Culture, Fire Brigade Legislation and Standard, Basic Structure and Building Knowledge , Fire Safety and Project Information in Buildings I-II, Fire Response Principles I-II, Civil Defense and Protection Information I-II, Fire Criminology, Chemicals and Hazardous Substances, Electrical Information and Safety, Search and Rescue Techniques, Earthquake Information and Rescue, Fluid Mechanics and Hydrostatics, Fire Investigation, First Aid in Search and Rescue and Disaster Psychology courses are included. Professional development, social and cultural development are supported with elective courses in the curriculum. In order to graduate from the Civil Defense and Firefighting Program, they must take all 120 ECTS credit courses and successfully complete their 50-day internship in total. In addition, in case of graduation, GPA must be at least 2.00. The student who fulfills these conditions is entitled to receive the Civil Defense and Firefighter Associate Degree Program Diploma.

Special conditions;

See. 9 In order to enroll in this program, they must meet the health conditions of the Municipal Fire Brigade Regulation (Article 15) in the conditions of appointment as a firefighter. It is also beneficial for the candidates to examine the conditions of appointment.

Employment Profiles of Graduates;

Graduates of the Civil Defense and Firefighting program: Search and Rescue Technician in Emergency Directorates, Search and Rescue Technician in Civil Defense Search and Rescue Unit Directorates, Fire Safety personnel in Hotels, Firefighting and Fire Safety-related Device Sales and Material production companies, Organized Industry and Industrial Organizations They are employed as Fire Safety personnel, Occupational safety and Occupational Health technicians. As areas where program graduates can work in the public sector; He is employed as a "firefighter" in metropolitan municipalities fire department heads and municipal fire directorates, as "firefighter" in various public institutions, as "ARFF officer" in State Airports Operations, and as "firefighter technician" in some institutions.

Transition to Higher Degree Programs;
